Add an on-demand video library to your gym or studio
Your recorded classes, your instructors, your brand — a member product on the web and in your own apps. Bookings, rosters, attendance and dues stay where they are.
- ✓ On demand only — no live streaming, no class management
- ✓ Apps for Web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV
- ✓ Your subscribers stay yours
Who this is for
Two things make this work: an archive worth watching and a member base you can reach.
Propel fits if
- ✓ You have recorded classes, or a timetable you could film without changing how it runs.
- ✓ You have a member base and a way to reach it: a mailing list, a front desk.
- ✓ You want your own classes and instructors on screen, not a licensed catalog.
- ✓ You are adding a tier, not replacing the system your facility runs on.
Look elsewhere if
- — You are a member looking for a class — your gym's timetable is not here.
- — You need bookings, rosters, attendance, door access or membership billing.
- — You want live streaming or live-class management. Propel is on-demand only.
- — You want somebody else's class programming licensed to you.
Your class archive becomes a member product
Organize your own recordings around the choices members make when they look for a class.
- Class type
- Use the names on your timetable: spin, strength, conditioning, mat work and mobility.
- Instructor
- Let members look for the instructors they already know from the studio.
- Duration
- Offer short sessions alongside full classes. Mark the running time so members can choose what fits.
- Level and equipment
- State the experience, space and equipment needed before a member starts watching.
- Series and courses
- A six-week block in order, the beginner course you run twice a year — published as the sequence you intended.
Members watch between visits
Give members a recorded option when they travel, miss a class or want to preview it before attending.
Propel's app range covers Web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV; branding depends on your plan. No other device or store is claimed. See branded apps for web, mobile and TV for publishing and store review. Everything here is on demand, with no live streaming or live-class management.
Keep your booking stack
Keep facility operations in your current system. Confirm these integration and access questions with both vendors before committing.
- Bookings and timetable
- Places, waitlists, cancellations and the schedule stay in the system that runs your rooms.
- Rosters and attendance
- Who is booked, who arrived, who no-showed: none of it exists here.
- Door and access control
- Fobs, turnstiles and codes are physical-access systems; Propel touches none.
- Membership billing
- Dues, contracts, freezes and joining fees stay where they are. Propel takes payment only for the video subscription it sells.
- Live classes
- No scheduled broadcasting, no virtual class management. Recorded and published only.
- Does anything connect to our booking and membership system?
No integration is confirmed. Plan on two systems and two logins.
- Can our existing member list be imported, or does everyone sign up again?
Migration is €490 on Studio and included on Brand. Confirm member-account and recurring-billing transfer scope.
- Can the on-demand tier be billed inside our current membership dues?
Bundling into facility dues is a commercial question to settle first.
- Who is the customer of record for an on-demand subscriber?
It affects your terms, cancellations and member communications.
- What happens to on-demand access when a facility membership lapses?
You need one rule you can state at the desk.
Keep the management system. Add the video tier beside it.
Multiple instructors, one library
Settle recording rights and consent with your instructors and advisers before filming.
- Does each instructor agreement cover recording and selling classes?
- Do you have permission from members visible or audible in recordings?
- What happens to an instructor's videos when they leave?
- How will instructors be paid, and who keeps the records?
- Multi-instructor rights handling is not confirmed. Do not assume automated rights or royalty tools.
Will it help retention?
On-demand access may help members stay engaged between visits — treat it as a hypothesis to test with your own members.
- Compare cancellations among members who activate the library and those who do not.
- Account for selection bias: members who opt in may already be more engaged.
- Track whether viewing supplements visits or replaces them. Neither outcome is guaranteed.
- Propel is pre-launch, so we cannot hand you retention benchmarks yet.
Bring your member numbers and we'll model it together.
A studio scenario
Subscribers multiplied by price. Start from your member count and a low take-up rate.
What this assumes
- Every member pays the same amount, every month.
- Nobody cancels, and nobody is on a discount or a free trial.
- Taxes, payment costs and platform costs are not deducted.
Worked example. 200 members paying €15 a month is €3,000 a month, or €36,000 a year, before any costs.
This is gross revenue before processing, app-store commission, tax, your plan and filming costs. No Propel fees are deducted automatically. Studio is €199/mo and Brand €599/mo, excluding VAT; Propel takes no percentage of your sales. Model your platform costs for a paid add-on. Assess any bundled benefit separately through costs and retention; it creates no direct subscription revenue.
Gym and studio FAQ
Can we import our existing members so they do not have to sign up again? +
Migration is €490 on Studio and included on Brand. Confirm whether your member accounts can transfer and who must re-subscribe; a migration service alone does not establish that scope.
Can we give on-demand access to full members and charge everyone else? +
It depends on whether access can be granted outside a paid subscription, which is not confirmed. Settle it before you print a brochure.
Who owns the recordings of our instructors' classes? +
A contract question between you and your instructors, answered before filming. Propel does not decide it; how multi-instructor rights are handled is not confirmed.
How many classes do we need before we open it to members? +
Each core class type represented, plus a short-format shelf — not fifty recordings of the same session.
Do we have to change how we film classes? +
Check sound, lighting and whether the camera shows each movement clearly. Film a few usable sessions before attempting the whole timetable.
What does Propel cost, and when can we launch? +
Studio €199/mo, Brand €599/mo plus a one-time €3,500 app launch; excluding VAT. No revenue share. See pricing for plans. No launch date or app-store review estimate is published.
