Propel for martial arts instructors

Put your martial arts video library behind your brand

A video service, not a school system: your instruction sold as membership access under your own name. Enrollment, attendance and grading stay where they are.

  • No grading records, no curriculum tracking, no attendance
  • Apps for Web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV
  • Your subscribers stay yours
What a member sees on the web app: level is a label on the video, not a record of the student.

Who this is for

Sell your filmed instruction while keeping enrollment, attendance and grading in your school system.

Propel fits if

  • You have instruction on film, or repeat techniques often enough to film once.
  • You have enrolled students, or a following beyond the mat.
  • You want your instruction behind your name, not free with adverts.
  • You accept that video supplements class rather than replacing correction.

Look elsewhere if

  • You want to learn martial arts online; this is the instructor's tool.
  • You need school management: timetables, enrollment, attendance, billing.
  • You want grading records or curriculum tracking.
  • You have filmed nothing yet.
The structure

Organizing a technique library

Discipline, technique group, level: all labels on content, none a record about a person.

Discipline
Start with one art, several arts, or a striking and grappling split that matches your school. Which disciplines Propel is built around is not published — ask before you assume yours is the focus.
Technique group
The families you already teach in: guard work, takedowns, escapes, clinch, footwork, throws.
Level
Fundamentals through advanced, so a newer student is not shown a variation presuming six years of practice. A label on content only; it records nothing about a student and unlocks nothing.
Drill and form series
A form broken into sections and shown whole; a drill progression in the order you build it.
Concept and history material
Distance, timing, pressure, the reasoning behind a technique: what turns a move list into an education.
Filmed instruction from class
Tuesday's technique, available to every member who was not there. Anyone on camera is published to your members. Get written permission before filming a class.
Two models

Members outside class, students inside it

Sell a public membership. If you also want access included in school fees, confirm student licensing and access rules first.

  • Can enrolled students be given access without paying a second subscription?

Student-access licensing is not confirmed. Check before including video access in school fees.

  • What happens to a student's access when they stop training with you?

Where access ends is a policy you publish yourself.

  • What protection is there against a member re-uploading paid instruction?

No protection capability is confirmed — an open question, not a feature.

Sell subscriptions, one-time purchase, free previews, with payments by card, apple pay, google pay. Compare the models in sell recurring access.

Belts, grading, and what Propel does not do

A level label helps members browse. It does not record progress or award rank.

  • No grading records

No belt, stripe, rank or grading history; Propel issues nothing.

  • No curriculum tracking

Nothing tracks which student has covered which technique; levels are labels, not permissions.

  • No attendance

No class registers, check-ins or sign-in at the door.

  • No school management

No timetable, enrollment, membership billing for mat time, or door access control.

  • No certification

Propel awards and verifies nothing. Rank comes from you and your organization, in person.

Discuss your membership

If you need a school management system, buy one of those instead.

Living room and mat side

How members watch

A phone at the edge of the mat; a television for reviewing a form.

Propel's app range covers Web, iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV; branding depends on your plan. No other device or store is claimed. Branded apps for web, mobile and TV covers publishing and store review.

The numbers

A membership scenario

Members multiplied by price. Count the people you can reach beyond the mat.

Revenue per month, before costs €3,000
Revenue per year, before costs €36,000

What this assumes

  • Every member pays the same amount, every month.
  • Nobody cancels, and nobody is on a discount or a free trial.
  • Taxes, payment costs and platform costs are not deducted.

Worked example. 200 members paying €15 a month is €3,000 a month, or €36,000 a year, before any costs.

This is gross revenue before payment processing, app-store commission, tax and your plan. No Propel fees are deducted automatically. Studio is €199/mo and Brand €599/mo, excluding VAT. Propel takes no percentage of your sales. Model your platform costs before setting a membership price.

What we will not say

Safety and claims

Put safety guidance where members see it before training. Video cannot assess readiness or replace supervision.

  • No claim that watching video prepares anybody for a confrontation.
  • No claim that any technique prevents injury.
  • Nothing assesses a member's readiness or supervises anybody training alone.
  • What to publish, at what level, with what warning, is your judgement as an instructor.

Martial arts FAQ

How much do I need filmed before opening the library?

The fundamentals of one discipline plus one complete drill or form series: something to work on tonight, something still waiting next month.

What stops a member sharing paid instruction?

What protection the platform offers is not confirmed, so ask before you plan around it.

Can my enrolled students get access as part of their fees?

Only if access can be granted without a separate subscription, which is not confirmed. Ask before promising it in your fee structure.

How do I keep the library current as I refine how I teach?

Review recordings when your teaching changes. Replace outdated explanations and remove instruction you no longer stand behind; confirm the update workflow before launch.

What does Propel cost, and when can I launch?

Studio is €199/mo for your own-brand web app and Brand is €599/mo with your own iOS, Android, Apple TV and Android TV apps, plus a one-time €3,500 app launch. Propel takes no percentage of your sales. All prices exclude VAT. Propel is pre-launch and open for early access; no launch or store-review date is published.
